Discover and Embrace the Extravagant, Unconditional Love of the Father
How is it that so many believers get stuck when it comes to entering into a relationship with God the Father? Rather than basking in the Father's endless love, compassion, and delight, we seem to hesitate, like orphaned children unsure of a place to call home.
Neal Lozano breaks through the obstacles that keep us from growing in this pivotal relationship. He shatters fear and estrangement in his joyful exploration of Jesus's promise to show us his Father--and ours. It is a heartwarming journey, starting with the universal experience of loss and ending in the Father's welcoming arms as dearly loved children.

- Abba’s Heart is a wonderful sequel to Unbound.
As our home group read and prayed together through Unbound in the fall of 2003, I shared the good of parents who honored their marriage covenant and did all in their power to raise healthy, happy children. But when asked, “What was life like for you in your father’s house?†I remembered the nameless dread. As a little boy, I knew nothing of the horror my father experienced during World War II, as he piloted a Landing Craft Infantry ship onto the beach during the first wave of the invasion of Normandy on D-Day. Nor did I understand the grief of a mother who lost her first child before he was two months old. I simply felt alone and rejected in my father’s house. With rejection came confusion and shame, grounded in believing the lie that I was not worthy to be their son. With fear of rejection came a gang of related spirits, including fear of abandonment, fear of intimacy and fear of death. I came to believe two big fat lies - ‘I was not worthy to be a son in my father’s house,’ and ‘my heavenly father is distant and unavailable, uninterested in me, and devoid of compassion and power to heal my wounded heart.’
I believe God used the gentle and pastoral deliverance model described in Unbound to destroy the power of these lies and restore my identity as a well-loved son. Prayer grounded in five biblical keys to freedom repentance and faith, forgiveness, renunciation, take authority in the name of Jesus Christ, and receive the Father’s blessing.
Now, reading Abba’s Heart, I see two overarching themes developed with godly wisdom and humility first, the loving kindness of God, the Father’s passion to invite us into an intimate family relationship with Him; and second, the authority believers carry in Christ, as sons and daughters of the Most High God.
Themes well worth pondering for those who long to see the glory of God manifested in power in the world today. There is golden wisdom in the pages of Abba’s Heart! - What a delight! The Lozano’s have literally “put the cherry on the sundae†with this wonderful work on the Father’s heart/ Abba’s heart for us His children! I am so grateful that Neal’s dream of writing this piece was fulfilled in my time. His content is comprehensive, deeply rooted in the scriptures and in their experience of ministering to the broken and bound. Every chapter was another “gem†to be pondered and placed in the crown the Lord extends to us His sons and daughters! As soon as the book arrived at a friend’s house where I am vacationing I knew I needed to devour it’s rich fare and pray through it’s pages. I was not to be disappointed. The prayers at the end of every chapter and the questions posed throughout spoke deeply to my heart and increased my longing for more and more of the Father’s heart. I immediately ordered a copy for myself knowing I need to read and pray through it again not just for my sake but for all those to whom I will be recommending this great gift! Thank you Neal and Matt for a job well done! I am forever grateful!
Last week I wrote a column in our parish bulletin encouraging everyone to read this gem and take it's call to heart.
Fr. Ed Sylvia CSC Associate pastor, Holy Cross Parish, South Bend, IN - This is probably the best book I have read in ten years. The Lozanos know God's Heart and are able to communicate it in a simple yet profound way, far better than any other writer I have encountered.
My wife and I read and re-read the book as part of our daily devotional reading, section by section. We laughed and we cried.
We recommend not racing through it, which was our initial temptation, but taking the time to savor each chapter.
We have gifted many people with copies of the book, and universally, they have raved about the deep insights and "connections" they sense. And several have strongly recommended or gifted others with the book. - This is a fantastic book! This was recommended to me by my spiritual director and it was a timely book. The book is essentially summed up in the title. For those who struggle knowing God as Father truly, not just intellectually or theologically, this book is for you. Neal's book invites the reader to a deeper place where the Father resides, waiting for us. This journey entails encountering the obstacles that keeps us from Him. This book challenges the reader to question his/her relationship with God and others in order to put behind the things that keep us from freedom and growing in love. I definitely would recommend this book to anyone.
- This could be the most important book you will ever read. What Neal Lozano speaks about is the foundation of our faith and our love for God. It makes the reader grow in deep confidence that the Lord God is our Father, in every beautiful respect of what that word means.
- Abba's Heart is transformational! Because so many suffer from the wounds of rejection and abandonment from their earthy fathers, this book helps us to enter into a deep relationship with our FATHER in Heaven whose love and mercy is infinite...Who heals our wounds and set's us free as we see our true identity in HIM.
- As you read through this book, you are caught up by the truth of the identity we share as sons and daughters of our True Father! The whole book reads as a continuous revelation of Abba and how much He loves us and desires to live within us to share truth that sets us free to be all He created!
- Abba's Heart is an easy read but with great depth. It is written to help us realize the depth of the Father's love and realize Jesus whole purpose is to bring us to the Father and to realize His love. It's a wonderful book. I highly recommend it for all!
