• In the latest book of E.J. Copperman's A Haunted Guesthouse mystery, Paul Harrison, the resident private investigator ghost has left for parts unknown, so things have quieted down for Alison Kirby, guesthouse owner and ghost whisperer. That is until Paul's older attorney brother, recently murdered, shows up wanting to see Paul.
  
  Richard wants to find Paul so he could help Cassidy VanDoren, the client he was working for at the time of his death. He believes she is in serious danger not to mention, she was also arrested for the murder of her step-father, Keith Barent Johnson. When Paul returns home, he and Alison, with the help of their friends, embark on an investigation to not only find out who really murdered Johnson, but Richard as well. But Richard strangely doesn't want an investigation into his death as much as he wants protection for Cassidy Van Doren.
  
  This story moves at a steady pace with a host of prospective murderers. It has enjoyable characters, was well written and the story line engaging. I would recommend this book and series to readers who like cozy mysteries with a paranormal element to it.

• "Ghostification." This is most likely my newest favorite word. Guesthouse keeper, Alison Kerby and family (and believe me this family is very involved in Alison's world,) have a constant state of Ghostification going on in their Guesthouse. Which is known as the 'Haunted Guesthouse.'
  
  The entire family, ghosts and alive, are feeling the vacancy of one of their founding ghosts, Paul Harrison. Paul has managed to be released from the small world of the guesthouse and has gone off to see the 'world.' Paul's imprint is felt even more empty when a 'new' ghost wanders in announcing that he is Paul's Brother, Richard. Time for Alison to find Paul.
  
  Richard was murdered. In a very unique manner. The thing is that in his living life he was an Attorney for a woman on trial for the murder of her Step-Father, in a bathtub, while he was fully clothed. Richard believes to his very core that the woman is innocent. Time for his deceased Brother's Private Eye talents to be used. Alison, also, is a reluctant Private Eye.
  
  With a household filled with guests and ghosts, Alison and family/friends are put to the challenge.
  
  This series makes me laugh. The clever dialog, witticisms, and characters you encounter reading these novels, just make them among my absolute favorites. I hope, sincerely, there is another episode on the writing pad.
• If you have not read earlier books in the series, this is not the place to start. I basically like the series but this was not one of the better products. The characters are not as well developed or even as likable in this outing. The editing was bad with confusing sentences, names and poor word choices. I would not be as critical if this were a mass market paperback. But this was $20 more than the other books in the series and it was no where near the same quality. I purchased it used and am glad I did not buy it new. If you like the series, wait for the mass market edition.
• I love all of E. J. Copperman's books, but this was the series I started with, and I still love Alison the best.
  In this installment we meet Paul's brother Richard, who is recently deceased and looking for Paul to see if he can help locate his killer. Since Paul, one of Alison's resident ghosts, is currently on a world tour(?), Alison offers to help Richard. She had happily given up on her P.I. career, since Paul was gone, but felt that Richard was family because Paul felt like her brother.
  As always, I love the interplay between Alison's family and her ghosts, along with the seniors who come to the Haunted GuestHouse to interact with the ghosts on the premises.
  I was again stumped as to the murderer, and I love the many layers of mystery that E. J. guides us through to get to the end. Can't wait for the next book, and won't have to wait long, thank heaven!
• I love a mystery with ghosts in it, and when you have ones that can actually solve said mysteries, and interact on different planes, it makes for a story where anything can happen. The characters in this book have a history in the previous ones, which I encourage others to read, but if you have not read them, the author does a good job of letting the reader know enough so they will not be lost. This book has plenty of twists and turns to keep the reader interested, and guessing who did it. Recommend.
• E. J. Copperman does it again with yet another great entry in the Haunted Guesthouse Mystery series. It's always sad to end one of these books, and particularly sad to realize that there's only one more projected to go. If you like dry humor, well-developed characters, and a well-paced, intelligent read, this book is for you! It can be read as a standalone, book for full pleasure ... read the series.
• Wish I could buy all of Cooperman's books as hard copies! Love the guesthouse series, but due to arthritis in my hands I can no longer hold a paperback when reading in bed (neck & back injuries make it too hard to read sitting up). A hardback I can brace with a pillow and gently lay my hand against it to hold it open while I read. You can't do this to a paperback. I also can't read on my , it blurs and burns my eyes. I want a real book in my hands anyway. I'll never be an ebook reader, though I do listen t9 only MP3 books while traveling.
• These are fun, engaging books in a series.
  I read the first I bought from resale, then bought all the others. They are fun, relaxing, entertaining.
  
  Mysteries with a resident ghost to help solve who dunnit! The characters are lovable.
