"As a medical student, one of the most difficult things to figure out in a time crunch is "what is going on with the patient" and "what can I do about it". Dr. Wachs' protocol on data gathering and how to systematically address all areas of concern REALLY helps organize the thought process. Even if you feel like you have a good handle on history and physicals, her perspective on data collection is very insightful. Would HIGHLY recommend 10/10!"

- As an instructor and doctor, Dr.Wachs is top notch. She engages the audience, presents material in a digestible and entertaining manner that isn't at all intimidating which I believe is a skill that not many educators in medicine truly have a grasp of. That said, Dr.Wachs was successful in translating her teaching style and presentation skills into text format and that's pretty amazing.
- One of the problems I had with the PE was worrying too much about solving the main diagnosis. In actuality the main diagnosis is usually pretty straightforward. The method taught in this book helps you systematically go through the pertinent positives and negatives of your differentials that way you can rule out important diseases that the test givers want you to ask about. The data gathering portion of the exam is all about making sure you ask the RIGHT questions, not just getting the diagnosis...this book helps you get as many of those questions as possible. Highly recommend for anyone preparing for the PE.
- This really helped me in my preparation for the Comlex PE. It explains an easy way to come up with columns for the differentials and what kinds of questions to rule out each. During my prep for the PE, I was struggling trying to come up with differentials but after reading this book and with practice, I was able to come up with them quickly and in a uniform manner with each case. Also explains how to organize your notes to allow for easy data gathering and efficient recording of the data. I was basically set for each case before I entered the patient room.

- Dr. Wachs’ method is helpful for boards and also prepares a framework for medical students to make an astute analysis of clinical complaints they will experience in their practice.
- Useful guide for comlex 2 pe. Gives you what you need and provides a framework for thinking of differentials and relevant patient history questions in a systematic order.
